Illah is a small, calm and beautiful, town located on the bank of the River Niger, in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State of Nigeria. It is situated on a table-land, some twenty-five kilometres north of Asaba, the State capital. Illah is one of the Ibo-speaking towns in Delta State, whose people belong to the ethnic group that has come to identify themselves as the Anioma people.
Illah has as her immediate neighbours, Ebu to the North, Asaba and Ugbolu to the South, Akwukwu-Igbo to the West and the majestic River Niger to the East.
covers a total of 240ha. However , 200ha is available for lease at the moment. 40ha is not allocated. Rice is a critical food staple for the planet. Although most rice is grown with flood irrigation, Illah irrigation is a way to reduce water use and allow rice to be added to crop rotations on fields that otherwise would not be possible due to elevation changes and soil variation.
