Ukpoke Irrigation project is located in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State with a total land size of about 75 hectares. The Centre Pivot Irrigation System covers a land area of 35 hectares installed and fully operational, at full capacity, it has the potential to serve 75 hectares of irrigable land. The medium term strategy of the Authority is to increase total arable land with irrigation facility from the existing 35 to 75 hectares. It is intended that this project will create over 300 direct jobs and 200 indirect jobs for the people living within that locality in farming and other associated activities. The long term objective is food security through all year round farming which will lead to self-sufficiency. Other planned projects to compliment this facility are a multipurpose dam for domestic use, irrigation, Hydroelectricity, recreational facilities and Agro allied cottage industry.
